[Source: Reuters] At least six people were killed and 21 injured after two earthquakes struck a mountainous region of Peru, the country’s civil defense chief said on Sunday. The quakes, measuring magnitudes 5.1 and 3.7, hit on Saturday night in Chupaca province in the Junín region, about 300 km (186 miles) east of Lima, according to Peru’s National Seismological Center post on X. The first quake struck at a depth of 24 km (15 miles) and the second at 18 km, the center said. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre earlier reported that the first earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6.Article continues…
[Source: Reuters] Israel is preparing to receive more U.S. refuelling aircraft, an Israeli military official said on Sunday, as attacks launched by the United States and Iran have escalated over the past week. The U.S. and Iran have intensified strikes since an interim ceasefire deal signed a month ago crumbled, raising the possibility of a return to all-out war. Israel has not joined the latest U.S. attacks. The Israeli official said the U.S. had “decided to adjust its force posture in the region” and “to reinforce the existing fleet of aerial refuelling aircraft stationed in Israel with additional refuelling aircraft.”Article…

Fiji’s reigning lightweight boxing champion, Mikaele Ravalaca will take on India’s Digari Mahesh this weekend in the Kings Boxing Promotions main bought instead of Rohit Chauhan. Ravalaca was earlier announced to take on Chauhan, however, promoter, Naroon Buksh today confirms that the Fijian champion will fight a new opponent. Mahesh is also from India and he’ll be challenging Ravalaca’s WBA Oceania Lightweight title. Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu revealed this during the launch of the third annual national scams awareness week. Commissioner Tudravu says 1,672 scam cases have been reported at 21 police stations nationwide over the past seven years.
