Palau’s graduation season is highlighting the achievements of students not only at home, but across universities and colleges around the world, as families and communities celebrate a new generation of scholars, professionals and leaders.
From community colleges to global universities, Palauan students celebrate academic excellence and achievement across multiple fields

KOROR, Palau (May 25, 2026) — Graduation season in Palau is once again becoming a celebration not only of academic achievement, but also of the strength, resilience and aspirations of Palauan families and communities as students across the islands and around the world reach major milestones in their educational journeys.
From elementary schools to universities overseas, May and June have become a time of pride and reflection for families, clans and the nation as young Palauans continue to demonstrate excellence in classrooms and institutions across the globe.
The celebrations began with the 63rd Commencement Exercise of Palau Community College, where 98 students received degrees and diplomas in various fields, marking an important achievement for students and their families.
Beyond Palau’s shores, Palauan students are also earning recognition internationally. According to the International Student Affairs office, eight Palauan students graduated from University of Hawaii at Hilo: Jocelyn Adelbai, Chiana Chiba, Britney Isaac, Omkedelad Ito, Melusech Mobel, Julia Chioko Polloi, Chriiktoi Taima and Ashia Udui.
Two young Palauan women were co-valedictorians of their school, the Hawaii-based Halau Ku Mana Public Charter School, Elilai Louch and Harue Pililani Kyota.
Elilai Louch, daughter of Bradley Louch will attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa while Harue Kyota will attend University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Their achievements have brought pride not only to their families but also to the broader Palauan community, reflecting the value many Palauan families place on education and perseverance.
Palauan graduates also continued to showcase excellence in specialized and professional fields internationally.
Balang Crystal Skey earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University in the United States, while Adrian Justine Ililau graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Meanwhile, Vincent Abedneko received a doctorate in oceanography from the College of Marine Science at National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan.
Additional Palauan students graduating from universities across Taiwan include Angelil Sisior and Eoghan Olkeriil Ngirudelsang, both earning degrees in International Business and Trade; Josiah Madlutk in Information Technology Management; Minrang Sheana Rhea Subediang in International Affairs and Diplomacy; Edson Ngiraiwet in Tropical Agriculture and International Cooperation; and Ikelau Lorinda Uro and Ngelmau Polli, both in Civil Engineering.
The growing number of Palauan graduates across diverse academic disciplines reflects the expanding opportunities pursued by Palauan youth and the continued support of families who invest in education both at home and overseas.
Across social media, families have also been sharing the accomplishments of students graduating with honors from high schools, colleges and universities around the world, underscoring a season of celebration for the nation.
For many Palauans, graduation season is more than a ceremony — it is a reflection of family sacrifice, cultural pride and hope for the country’s future as a new generation steps forward prepared to contribute to Palau and the wider world.
