Hagåtña (Guam) – Guam is set to welcome the region once again as the 2026 FIBA Micronesian Cup and FIBA Women’s Micronesian Cup tipping off from August 14 to 16, bringing together national teams from across Micronesia for three days of fast‑paced competition and island pride.
The Guam Basketball Confederation will host both tournaments, continuing a strong run of major events after staging the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers window earlier this year and successfully delivering the previous Micronesian Cups in 2022 as well as the FIBA U15 Oceania Cups in the same year.

The women’s competition will feature Guam, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), with all three teams returning to the floor eager to build on their performances from the last edition.
On the men’s side, Palau and FSM will battle for the Micronesian Cup title, continuing a rivalry that has intensified over the past cycle.
Guam’s experience hosting international basketball events has expanded significantly in recent years, with the island proving itself a reliable and energetic destination for FIBA competitions. With the 2026 edition now confirmed, anticipation is building across Micronesia as teams finalise their rosters and prepare for another opportunity to compete on the international stage.
The top two placed teams in the women’s competitions will qualify for the 2027 Pacific Games in Tahiti with the top placed men’s team also qualifying. The FIBA Micronesian Cup and FIBA Women’s Micronesian Cup tips‑off on August 14, with all games to be played at University of Guam Stadium.
