Various investors are interested in paying for the new Palau

The new Palau Blaugrana will not require financial outlay from Barça itself. As Mundo Deportivo clarified following statements made by Joan Laporta and Ferran Olivé (the vice president for finance) at the Ordinary General Assembly, the club will not be responsible for the payment.

The arena is expected to be ready by 2031 and is a top priority for the current board of directors. Reports from Mundo Deportivo indicate interest from several investment firms in bringing the new Palau Blaugrana—which will feature 15,000 seats for sporting events—to fruition.

The initial project, as outlined by Barça, called for a 12,000-seat capacity, but this will be expanded to 15,000 to allow for the possibility of hosting a Final Four tournament. Barça will not cover the cost of the facility.

“The new Palau Blaugrana is not part of the €300 million figure. We are looking for solutions. It will not incur debt and will not impact the financing of Espai Barça. We are working on alternative approaches,” Laporta commented at the Ordinary General Assembly.
