source: BBC The star’s directorial debut Propeller One-Way Night Coach has premiered at Cannes – and one critic dubbed it a ‘disaster’. It’s the latest example of an A-lister heading behind the camera with baffling results. At the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday night, the festival’s dapper organiser, Thierry Frémaux, introduced a screening of John Travolta’s new film Propeller One-Way Night Coach – the first he has directed. “I have a theory about films made by actors,” said Frémaux. “They’re always intimate, unique, personal, and full of ideas of cinema.” Well, maybe. [Source:Reuters] Neymar’s final audition for Brazil’s World Cup squad turned into a nightmare on Sunday (May 17) when officials mistakenly substituted the wrong player during Santos’ 3-0 home defeat to Coritiba. The fourth official raised the board with his number 10 displayed as Robinho Jr took his place, but as Neymar tried to return to the field, he received a yellow card before getting involved…

The two-day meeting follows a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing that yielded few concrete economic breakthroughs, as tensions over Taiwan and trade simmered beneath a display of diplomatic cordiality. At the core of the Paris agenda will be what French Finance Minister Roland Lescure described as deep-seated global economic imbalances that are fuelling trade friction…
