Last night’s farewell dinner in Nausori was a special occasion for members of the Rewa football team, who departed early this morning for the BiC Fiji FACT in Labasa.

Co-captain Setareki Hughes says the fellowship shared with family members and loved ones will serve as a major source of motivation for the players throughout the tournament.

With the team having spent weeks focused on preparations, Hughes says the gathering provided a fitting send-off as they set out to represent the district on one of Fiji football’s biggest stages.

“It’s good to have all our family here tonight. To have them all come out here and share a meal with the boys before they leave is really going to be a good motivation for the boys.”

The side departed from Natovi Jetty at 5am today and is expected to arrive in Labasa later this afternoon.

They play Navua tomorrow at 5pm.

You can catch the live commentaries of the BiC Fiji FACT tournament on Radio Fiji Two.
