McDonald’s Fijian Drua Women head coach Mike Legge has acknowledged slow starts in recent matches as the side prepares to face the Brumbies in Ba this Saturday.

Legge admits conceding early points has been a concern, especially against quality opposition, but says the issue has been addressed during the week.

The coach is confident the adjustments made in training will translate on match day.

“We identified it last week and felt we let ourselves down in that first half with a slow start. We’ve changed a few things at training to better replicate match starts, and we’re hopeful that will translate onto the field on Saturday.”

Legge stressed that the Drua cannot afford to give teams an early advantage if they are to remain competitive in the tournament.

He adds that the focus is on delivering a complete 80‑minute performance, particularly in front of fans in Ba, as the Drua aim to build momentum in the competition.

The Drua Women will take on the Brumbies at 2.05pm this Saturday, and you can watch it LIVE on FBC2.
