GREECE: The Palau Ship Registry notes that certain reports have identified M/T JAMES II (IMO 9253909) as a vessel registered under the Palau flag. This is not correct.
To clarify, M/T JAMES II has not held valid registration certificates under the Palau flag since 9 May 2026. The vessel’s class was also withdrawn by RINA on 10 May 2026.
At the time of the reported incident, the vessel did not hold valid registration certificates issued by the Palau Ship Registry.
The Palau Flag Administration was contacted by the Turkish Search and Rescue (SAR) authorities on 28 May 2026 for clarification, and the relevant information was duly provided.
