The US Tsunami Warning Center says there is no further tsunami threat to Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas and American Samoa following the Panama quake.
The quake struck at 6.56am NZ time in the south of the country, measuring magnitude 7.6 at a depth of 33km.
The US Tsunami Warning Center’s latest issue said based on all available data, there is no further tsunami threat to Guam, Rota, Tininan or Saipan from this earthquake.
On American Samoa, it said based on all available data, there is no further tsunami threat to American Samoa from this quake.
And an update on Hawai’i, the Center said a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i.
