Four Seasons Explorer Palau Introduces New ‘Hidden Beach’ Route To Kayangel

Four Seasons Explorer Palau has always been about reaching extraordinary places few travellers experience. Now, the journey continues north to Kayangel as the luxury catamaran introduces a new route with access to one of the archipelago’s most remote island escapes.

Aboard Four Seasons Explorer Palau – the only vessel to journey to both the country’s northern and southern islands – guests experience this pristine hideaway exclusively when conditions allow. Just 1.4 square kilometres in size, Kayangel is celebrated for its untouched beauty, crystal-clear waters and powder-soft white sand beaches.

Central to the Kayangel stop-off is a stretch of shoreline reserved solely for Four Seasons Explorer guests. Here, a castaway-style beach lunch is served beside a dazzlingly blue horizon, with vegetarian and seafood bento boxes featuring Mediterranean-inspired salads, rolls and mains. Highlights range from watermelon and feta, avocado and caponata to Niçoise salad, yuzu-dressed prawn and grilled cod, followed by apple pie.

Beyond its idyllic beaches, Kayangel is home to one of Palau’s smallest and most remote communities. Life here moves at nature’s pace, with fishing, farming and local traditions passed from one generation to the next. Accessible only by boat, the island is a rare discovery within an already secluded destination.

The new Kayangel route joins a collection of immersive Explorer experiences that showcase the extraordinary diversity of Palau’s islands, both above and below the water. Guests can dive and snorkel within Palau’s 500,000 square kilometres (193,000 square miles) of protected marine territory, or kayak through the UNESCO-listed Rock Islands Southern Lagoon. Guided island excursions reveal centuries of Palauan culture. On board, yoga, wellness and world-class dining offer a slower pace, while M-Dock, a waterfront restaurant, bar and lounge launching on October 1, 2026, extends the Explorer experience from sea to shore.

Accommodating just 22 guests, Four Seasons Explorer Palau operates as a luxury floating resort with daily embarkations. Flexible itineraries are shaped by the destination: days might start with sunrise yoga and a guided dive, followed by jungle bike rides, village tours, or marine biology presentations. As daylight fades, sunset cocktails and starlit skies await. From pristine beaches in the north to the limestone islands of the south, every journey is designed to reveal a different side of a remarkable island nation.
