Ash from the volcano on Vanuatu’s Ambae Island is causing flight disruptions across the country.
An advisory from Vanuatu Tourism issued Monday warns all travellers that ash clouds from the ongoing low-level eruption of the Manaro Voui volcano is affecting flights.
RNZ Pacific understands Team Vanuatu were also unable to begin their journey to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games due to international flight cancellations.
Visitors are urged to contact airlines, tour operators and accommodation providers directly to confirm all transit plans before heading to local airports.
